Not bad

Guten Reader gives you access to more than 18,000 ebooks, all of them classics of literature classics from the Gutenberg Project.

The Guten Reader interface couldn’t be simpler. It includes a small search field to locate ebooks by title or author, a list with results and a large, resizeable area where the selected book is displayed. There are options to customize the book’s text and size, with a large selection of text fonts. Also, the “Highlight dictionary words” option in Guten Reader highlights words that are frequently used in SAT tests. If you hover the mouse over them you’ll see their definition.

That said, the truth is that Guten Reader is a bit too basic and has signficant limitations as an ebook reader. To begin with, it doesn’t have any bookmarking system. You can’t search for specific text strings either, or download the files to your hard drive. Even so, it’s a quick, easy way to read literature classics on your computer.

With Guten Reader gives you immediate access to more than 18,000 books from the Gutenberg Project.
